FARAFINA was a spark, and initiative started by Coumba Toure in 2023, with the purpose of reclaiming and rebuild a grassroots peoples’ solidarity between progressive groups in Africa and the US. It has as its foundation the history mass global mobilizations against colonialism and racism in the 1960s. It continues on that goal, to lifts up and make visible the global African diaspora’s struggle for continued liberation. It is based on the belief that global Black diaspora must build links, for mutual liberation and the sake of the planet.
